Many bonsai masterpieces are Shimpaku Junipers and ours is no exception. Shimpaku is a naturally irregular vase shaped Juniper and this specific tree has been trained to have a coiled trunk and coiled branches. Shimpaku was and is very dangerous to collect. It is said that the first Shimpaku to be collected in the wild came from the Ishizuchi mountain range on Shikoku Island. Which is why the Shimpaku Juniper were considered to be a symbol of status in Japan.
If you are looking for a status symbol or wanting to express your own look no further than our Coiled Shimpaku Juniper. With its attractive year round foliage and its dark green needles that are soft to the touch our bonsai makes a welcomed addition to any room or setting it occupies. Very popular and easy to care for bonsai.
